Your text stays yours
When you press UNTHINK, the AI answer you paste or import is analysed in your browser.
For the free UNTHINK scan:
- Your pasted or imported text is not stored by Unthinkit.
- Your pasted or imported text is not sent to an external AI service for analysis.
- Your pasted or imported text is not used to train AI models.
- Your pasted or imported text is not sold or shared for advertising.
- Your pasted or imported text is not saved to an account. Browser storage is used only if you explicitly choose Save review on this device.
- Your text is not automatically included in feedback messages.
The analysis is performed locally using Unthinkit's deterministic rules. Results are generated from patterns and evidence found in the text you supplied.
The free scan does not send your text to an AI model. If you choose Continue with AI, Unthinkit prepares one whole-context refinement prompt locally using the complete source, the passages and questions you kept and your judgement notes. You decide whether to paste that prompt into another service, whose own privacy terms then apply. Look Deeper with AI is the separate, explicitly confirmed cloud route described below.
A separate optional cloud route
Look Deeper with AI is an experimental, disabled-by-default option after local analysis. It requires a new disclosure, the exact phrase UNTHINKIT AI and a separate confirmation button every time. Choosing Stay Private keeps the entire review local.
Confirmed text passes through Lovable AI Gateway to OpenAI. Gateway credentials remain server-side. Lovable AI App Context must be off before activation; otherwise full request and response context may be retained for 90 days. Summary metadata may still be retained, and underlying-provider retention and regional processing remain activation checks.
Human review remains human
U THINK IT uses structural tags to organise the original answer for your review. Those tags are created locally and do not represent risk ratings or findings.
The Thinking Receipt records whether that optional stage was not started, partially completed or completed. The status records workflow activity; it does not approve or certify the answer.
Document import stays local
If you choose a PDF, DOCX, TXT or Markdown file, Unthinkit reads the file in your browser and places the extracted text into the same text box you can edit before running the scan. The document itself is not uploaded to Unthinkit.
DOCX files are unpacked locally in the browser. PDF text extraction uses the open-source PDF.js library in the browser; the PDF contents are not sent to PDF.js or to an AI service.
Scanned or image-only PDFs need OCR and are not supported by the current importer.
No account required
You do not need to create an account to use the UNTHINK scan.
We measure use without measuring your thinking
The public website uses privacy-focused Umami analytics so we can understand aggregate traffic and whether people reach key product stages such as running UNTHINK, keeping a question, starting review, creating a Thinking Receipt, exporting a PDF or copying the optional refinement prompt.
Those product events are deliberately name-only. They never contain the passage you analysed, checkpoint evidence, Unthinkit questions, judgement notes, Thinking Receipt contents or refinement prompt.
Umami does not use cookies in its tracking code. We exclude URL search parameters and hashes, respect browser Do Not Track, and provide an analytics opt-out on the Privacy page.
The website still uses the internet
Unthinkit is a hosted website, so ordinary technical information may be exchanged when you visit it — for example, requests needed to load the site and operate its hosting infrastructure.
That is separate from the text you paste or import into the UNTHINK scan.
Your supplied text is processed locally in your browser when you press UNTHINK.
Save a long review only when you choose to
Longer professional reviews may take more than one session. If you choose Save review on this device, Unthinkit stores that review in this browser's local IndexedDB so you can resume it later.
That saved review stays on the device. It is not uploaded to Unthinkit, not attached to analytics, not synced to an account and not sent to an AI provider. Once enabled, changes are saved automatically in that local review as you continue. You can delete it from the review at any time.
Your Thinking Receipt stays under your control
The questions you keep, your selected prompts and judgement notes remain in the active local review state. Unthinkit does not save them as an account record.
The Thinking Receipt is assembled locally from your source text and review choices. If you export it as a PDF, the PDF is generated locally. If you then save or share it, your browser, device and any destination service you choose may process that file.
Unthinkit does not receive a copy simply because you create or export the receipt.
Feedback stays under your control
The results page links to a missed-checkpoint feedback form. Your analysed text is never included: the passage you analysed, your notes and your triage decisions are not carried into that form.
Only the structured choices you make are sent, and only when you submit. You may also add a short fictional example you write yourself — it should not contain original or confidential text.
You decide what, if anything, you include in your feedback.
What UNTHINK does — and does not do
UNTHINK examines language patterns in the AI answer you provide and offers questions for looking again.
It does not:
- determine whether a claim is true;
- verify information against external sources;
- reveal hidden reasoning or private model processes;
- guarantee that an AI answer is safe, accurate or reliable; or
- treat every flagged pattern as an error.
Its purpose is narrower: to show you places where reading should become thinking.
Who is behind Unthinkit?
Unthinkit was created by Denish Patel and is operated by Darwinian Angel Ltd (trading as Intuitioneer).
Denish is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS), a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS) and holds an MBA from The Open University.
Unthinkit grows from the same underlying concern: AI can produce highly convincing answers, but the judgement about whether to rely on them should remain human.
